Well-being at Work - Alexander Technique Workshop
Free yourself from work- related back and neck pain with the Alexander Technique
The Alexander Technique is a simple but profound method of releasing physical, mental and emotional tension. Poor postural, mental and emotional habits accumulated over years can cause a build-up of tension which can affect the way we move, think and feel and this in turn can severely affect our quality of life.
Through observation, awareness and education of how the body and mind are designed to work, we can become aware of our own excessive tension. With increased awareness you can discover new ways of moving, thinking and feeling that put less strain on your body and mind.
The Alexander Technique is a powerful tool for personal development and self-awareness and it equips you with new skills to cope with life's demands. It teaches you to help yourself in improving how you move, perform, think and feel. It’s not therapy. It’s education.
The aim of the workshop is to explore key principles and procedures of the Alexander Technique and learn to use them in the context of dealing with the demands of life and work.
The workshop is suitable for all, but is of particular interest to those who spend long hours sitting or standing, or who suffer from work-related repetitive strain injuries, head, neck or shoulder pain. Occupational Health Nurses, Safety Co-ordinators and Training Co-ordinators may have a particular interest in this workshop if they are involved in the management of MSD in the workplace.
